Corporate and Institutional Banking Division (“CIBD”)
The CIBD was formed in July 2007 to take advantage of synergistic advantages of a merger between the Corporate Banking Services and Business Development Departments which have been operating as separate units for many years.

Products and Services
The CIBD in close liaison with International Department has long standing expertise in providing Offshore Finance and Structured Trade Finance solutions in international trade, in addition to financing local working capital requirements and medium term financing for capital equipment and other corporate retooling programmes. Since inception, a variety of products have been developed to enable our customers to capitalize on the opportunities presented by a more dynamic business environment.
CIBD’s products and services include:-
- Acceptance Credits
Clients may draw on the bank at periods of up to 180 days on a revolving basis to finance imports, stocks and debtors.
- Agri-business
CIBD facilitates working capital requirements for farmers through concessionary funding by the Central Bank as well as its own resources through the Treasury Department.
- Corporate Current Accounts / Term Deposits
CIBD through the bank’s retail branch network offers Corporate Current Accounts and Term Deposits at competitive market related rates.
- Loans and Overdrafts
Through structured trade finance arrangements, CIBD provide both short and medium term loan and overdraft facilities to cater for working capital requirements and to finance capital expenditure.
- Loan Syndication
Arrangements can be made to accommodate client requirements in cases requiring very large exposures.
- Offshore Finance
Funding is provided for both capital goods and working capital requirements through pre & post shipment finance as well as import financing. The bank has well established foreign correspondents and shareholder banks comprising Nedbank Limited headquartered in South Africa and N M Rothschild & Sons (Private) Limited headquartered in London and is also a member of the Old Mutual group.
- Structured Trade Finance and International Trade Products
Provided through:-
- Letters of Credit, documentary collections and open account payments.
- Financing and processing Open Account transactions.
- Issue of local and foreign guarantees, bid bonds and performance bonds.
- Customized structured trade solutions for specific transactions and financing needs
- Relationship Management
The CIBD team is staffed by well-qualified and experienced personnel who draw on a variety of skills in the disciplines of banking, finance, economics and law to create a cohesive team. CIBD works through Account Relationship Managers (“ARMs”) who are tasked with discharging full responsibility for developing business relations and nurturing them by assisting clients in achieving their intended objectives.
